Hi - hope someone can help.
I'm on the verge of purchasing an Imac.
Currently using CS3 extended on a Windows platform.
I've heard and read somewhere that Adobe offer a platform converstion at a modest (£15/£20?)
Does anyone know about this?
I cant get Adobe to respond and Apple Leicester were useless.
Help!:bang:

Not a real problem as I'm in the course of migrating to Mac.

You need to contact Adobe customer Service and set up a case. You need to email

english-custserv@adobe.com.

Explain the situation and they will start the ball rolling. You will need to provide the receipt/invoice for the original software, and any upgrades.

They will send you a letter and a declaration for you to sign that you have destroyed the orriginal disks. On receipt of this they will send out new Mac disks.

Note you can only do this once, If you move back to PC you'll have to buy the full version.

I didn't have the receipt for my original version ( it's years ago I bought it) but they accented a scanned image of the CD and the original box with serial no. I had to provide receipts for the upgrades.

Thanks for the advice Chappers and the email address was most useful.

I've now got my iMac and love it - albeit acknowledging the learning curve - but I'm currently without my beloved Photoshop. Gorgeous 24" screen and cant work on my photos!

The first guy we spoke with at Adobe was helpful and said he would send me a new Mac CS3 DVD immediately on payment of a small fee.

However - it transpired that someone else (our local friendly PC shop we suspect) had registered my copy of CS3 (it had been purchased legitimately and I had all copy invoices etc.) and whilst sorting this out, someone further up the tree in Adobe advised that because mine was a student licence, (purchased whilst studying with the OU) - it could not be upgraded or transferred to Mac!

We are currently still trying to sort this with Adobe but I suspect its a no goer.

So, the morale of this story is beware of the small print!

Yes it is easy (and cheap) to transfer platform between PC & Mac, but not if it is CS3 extended or under a student licence!

Anyone want to sell a legitimate copy of CS3 for the Mac!
