CS3 problem when saving.

I've started to save my images and keep the Exif data, im working in 8-bit mode and saving as a Jpeg file.. but.

when i come to upload it to flickr the colours are a mile off and come over with a green cast, although the image in photoshop looks spot on and also when you look at the thumbnail on the pc its fine.

If i save for web it's fine, is there anyway round this? I've searched all over for an answer!
 
It's the colour space you are using. Use sRGB for the web. I guess you are sending ProFoto RGB or Adobe RGB.

The web is really designed for images in the sRGB colour space. Convert your profile in Ps to sRGB

Saving for the web likely converts the image to sRGB

Im useless, I cant find the sRGB profile.

Im looking at image > mode > and it has a few colour profiles but no sRGB?
 
First things first i'd use srgb mode in the camera from the outset unless you've got a really good reason for using adobe. If you shoot raw it doesn't matter what space the camera is in, you can choose srgb output in the raw converter.

Make sure cs3 has srgb set in the following places...

edit / colour settings / rgb box in working space section

view / proof setup / (should be monitor rgb ticked here)

Work from a srgb file from the beginning in that setup and your colours shouldn't be affected by the adobe rgb colour shift in browsers at least (colour calibration can still be off though if theres a weird setting somewhere along the line either in photoshop or windows colour management)

To convert a file in photoshop that is already in adobe rgb, go to... edit / convert to profile / and choose srgb in the destination box. That won't just instantly change the colours though, you'll have to edit the photo to how you want it before saving in srgb (then it should save and display with the colours as you intended).

When you convert you may see the colours change as the out of gamut colours are clipped.

Do you shot RAW? You can set the output colour space there too.

I shoot in aRGB because there's a wider gamut ffor printing purposes (I [print my own images on my Epson R2400) but I convert my web images to sRGB.
