CS3 Bridge ACR Problem

I have CS3 and my usual workflow is to open photos in Bridge to and adjust levels and sharpness in its ACR then open the files in Photoshop to do the final editing.

Occasionally, when I attempt to open them up in Bridge there is no option to open them in Camera RAW. Double clicking will open them in Photoshop's Camera RAW instead of Bridge's (as usually happens). I can get around it sometimes by cutting and pasting the rogue files into another folder.

Any ideas why it sometimes opens up Photoshop instead of just opening the file in Bridge's ACR?

Hi, I'm new to the forum but I've been looking for an answer to this problem myself.
I started a thread on a different forum regarding the same topic:

detail here I had several suggestions but none worked. It seems it works for some people but not others?!?!

Are you seeing the problem on just some images or has the functionality gone completely?

I'm still having to open ACR in CS3 rather than bridge which is getting quite tiresome & I miss the ablitity to open it using the "R" key when in slideshow mode.

If you find a solution I'd be intrigued to find out what you did.

I only get it on some images. One thing that works occasionally is cutting and pasting them into a new folder in windows explorer. Then starting bridge. Somehow it picks them up.
