Just got a copy of CS2 from a mate who's upping sticks and moving to New Zealand. Problem is, it's not boxed and I can't get it to load up because it doesn't have a serial number/security code with it. I've tried the net and each time (on various sites) I try to download a number I get a virus warning.

My mate tells me it's a genuine CS2 disc and it appears to be. Certainly doesn't look like a copy. Any idea how I can get it to work.:bang::bang:

IIRC
He has to un-install it and you can re-apply for another serial number from Adobe.

I am sure the link is floating around the forum somewhere

 get in touch with Adobe for a new key, but be prepared to pay (anything else is a bit dodgy!)

Yup, you have to either get the original serial number from him, or contact Adobe and explain the situation.

There unfortunately is no other way. Looking for a serial on the net is technically piracy, as when you buy the software, you're not paying all that money for the disc. What costs is the license to use that software, and that comes in the form of a legitimate serial number :)

How much will it cost for the number (roughly)? If it's 100's I'd rather save up and get the latest version of CS. Ta!

I have absolutely no idea. Your friend should be able to pass it onto you with the disc, but the only people who can answer that really, is Adobe.

Its free, look on the adobe site and their is a form to download and fill in they will then transfer ownership to you, simple as that. They will then re advise you of the serial number.

Cheers guys. Just got in from work and foned my mate. He now tells me he got the disc un-boxed from a contact in the retail trade and he's never loaded it onto his own computer, tho he's still is of the opinion it's a legit disc. I have my doubts now. Sounds a bit sus to me:suspect:. Think I'll bin it, save my pennies and continue with Elements 4 for the mo. Probably the best thing to do. All in agreement say AYE!!!!

Spoze CS2 for free was too much to ask for. Now ------------- where's Santa:lol:

Thanks again for the help.
