Ok as per Jelster's thread there is a raw plug in for CS3 for 40D raw files, but the plug in 3.7 for CS2 doesn't seem to work... does that mean I need to upgrade my version of photoshop?
 
Asfar as I know CS2 does not and will never support the 40D in RAW, you nee to use another app or upgrade to CS3.

Or use Adobe's convertor to .dng

Which is Adobes RAW format. There is no loss of data.
 
I tried to use the DNG converter and it wouldn't work :thinking: must have chosen wrong version will try again :lol: thanks!!

I think you need version 4.3 or later of the dng converter - Just download the current version (v 4.4.1) and you should be fine.
