Cs 4 black and white conversion

Is there as there a quick and dirty way to do a black and white conversion in Cs 4

Use an action from www.atncentral.com I like Gormans B+W Action best as you can alter the depth of black, contrast etc

Image>Adjustments>Black & White is the quickest way. Just adjust the channel slider until you're happy

Even quicker is, shift+CTRL+U thats the desaturate command, it's also about the worst way to convert to B+W. If you do a lot of B+W check out silver effects pro, it's better IMHO than the B+W options in photoshop.
