Hi all,

I'm after a bag for a 13"macbook, sony a350 with kit lens and a sigma 70-300lens.

I've been looking at a crumpler muffin top half photo or a few other bags.

any ideas on what to go for or what is best?

the Lowepro Stealth reporters are quite good, available in different sizes

I've got a bag from both, different bags and both are great, I went in the shop and tried them out to see which felt best for that size of bag I was after. Don't think you'd be disappointed with either.

Also have a 650 aw which is used to house all my gear in, but if i nip out i usually take the mini trekker, both great.

I guess it's a case of looking at a few and see which meets your needs, Calumet always have a great selection.

Rob.

I have switched to a Crumpler Muffin Top 7500 as my main bag, from Lowepro. It's dead simple, and fast to access. The lack of zips and pockets, endless pouches, flaps and dividers, is very refreshing :)

Depends on just how bulky the Mac is as to whether he'd get all his kit in a 7500. I can just about fit a 450d, 17-55, 10-20 and 10" MSI Wind in mine with a smidgeon of space for accesories in the front pouch. I could get a 70-200 in there but I'd have to leave the netbook behind.

Love the Muffin Top 7500 though, it's a joy to use!

from my experience if you want to carry your kit, crumpler......if you want to carry and protect your kit, lowepro

Cheers all,

My macbook is about 2cm thick, I don't like the style of the reporters bag, I'd like room to get my sarnies in too. the rucksac style looks like it'd suit my needs most, just not 100% i'd get a a350 with kit lens fitted in a crumpler muffin top half photo, the full photo is overkill in size for what I want. Oh what to do!

I just got the Crumpler Messenger Boy Full backpack. Only £54.99 - Jacobs have a deal on at the mo' (ends today).

Really nice bag, comfortable, will hold a laptop, and will definitely fit in the A350 + 2 lenses.

I tried one the Crumplers with the half and half areas for photo and other stuff; there was hardly any room in the photo bit though! Thought it was a bit useless TBH. Not to mention the top half was very difficult to even unzip, let alone get anything in there. The full photo backpacks are much more practical and you can fit a lot more in (even if it is your sarnies!). :D

I'm not a bug lowepro fan (ducks for cover).
They are quite obviously camera bags and over too many zips and pockets although they are tremendously well thought out.
I've been a Crumpler fanboy for ages my prettyboy xxl currently holds all my kit no probs with space to spare. Plus it looks pretty good IMO.

Joe
