TBH the Snail caught my eye first, them the tree patterns struck me. Glad you like it DaveGot to love the patterns on tree bark, good shot and bonus for the snail.

Thanks Helen, I was pleased with that one.Full.. sunflower hearts.. they leave everything else so I've given up with any alternatives. Looks good in mono.
Patterns... that's a lovely shot, nicely composed and exposed. Lots of natures own patterns there.
Patterns - I was a bit lucky to stumble on that one, I was trying to capture a Wren and stopped for a breather.Catching up:
Full: really well composed and shot Keith, love it.
Patterns: I found a snail shell as well but I think that you've taken a better image than me
Thanks Simon, good job I stopped there and turned around, bit of a lucky find.Excellent Keith. Love the way the bark swirls like the snail shell!
First time I've been over there buddy, drove by many times and had no idea it was there, then I Googled "Bedfordshire Tunnels"I had the same idea but I never got time to get there. There used to be a fence and metal grill over the enterance and a lot more trees than that? Do you go often?
Think there was a mini and it's engine laying about too?
Might have been a Metro not a mini ..
If people are in the tunnel don't hang around, I've been down there when people were in there and armed police arrivedFirst time I've been over there buddy, drove by many times and had no idea it was there, then I Googled "Bedfordshire Tunnels"
There's a few remnants of a vehicle in front of the tunnel, couple of rusty wheels.
There was a gap in the barrier and smoke coming from the tunnel, pretty sure someone was in there so I didn't hang around.
Is it a good walk in the Spring/Summer? (Plenty of low Kites on the fields over there)
That sounds a nice walk, but a local once told me they get a few cars broken into at the Church car park, it's a very pretty area but sounds like it has its issues !If people are in the tunnel don't hang around, I've been down there when people were in there and armed police arrived
It is a nice place spring and summer, blossom on the trees, small birds, kites, rare breed sheep were kept in there for a while, the front of the tunnel is great on a hot day, nice cold breeze flows straight down the old track line.
You can walk to it from Old Warden church, if you want a day out in the sticks.
Don't say that! I left my car there week before last... I'll park in shuttleworth next timeThat sounds a nice walk, but a local once told me they get a few cars broken into at the Church car park, it's a very pretty area but sounds like it has its issues !
Thanks Peter.Sounds like a tunnel to avoid.
Good B/W image and well on theme.
The valley of the old rail line stretches about 100yrds in the other direction, quite a dramatic setting. I agree, works well in mono.I love this sort of shot where urban seems to meet country. Perfect for mono too.
Thanks SimonGreat shot Keith
Yes it was too lonely down there considering everything, I didn't hang about. That Tunnel looks a bit rough, armed police ! need more be said.
Looks good in B&W
Thanks Roger, really appreciate that.Love the tunnel shot, the natural bowl of the countryside draws you in to the picture centring on the tunnel, very well composed.
Thanks Gav, I guess it's possible that the bird hatched and the shell was ejected from the nest after? It's spring... but the sad side, poor Thrush.
Nice use of DoF and good colour![]()
Thanks ColinI'll ignore all the puns that spring (unintended) to mind and say it's a really nice shot and a great idea for the theme.
Thanks RogerGreat idea for the theme, well spotted, colours are nice and the egg is in very sharp focus. I like this image a lot.![]()
I only went into the area because I needed a wee !Well spotted and nicely shot
I'm with you, empty shell from successful hatchingThe colour contrast and composition with the dead leaf really works. My glass is half full so I'm assuming it hatched and flew![]()

Thanks Gav, I guess it's possible that the bird hatched and the shell was ejected from the nest after?
My CSI viewing suggests that @Gav-canon is correct.
Thanks KeithLovely colour and great contrast with the background giving it pop
Thanks Bill really appreciate that.Good eye Keith, really well captured.
Well if you want a story.......Sure there's a story there somewhere but not sure what it is!!
Nice image and it made me smile.
