Hi all,

I've been dabbling with a bit of programming and just put together a little site to do some automatic post processing. At the moment its just cross-processing, but I'd extend it with further effects if anyone found it interesting.

The site is www.purergb.com

If you had any comments whether good or bad I'd be really interested to hear them

thanks!

That looks really interesting - good luck if you decide to expand it

Edit: I've uploaded a B&W and a Colour pic just to see what I can do with them - looks good but I'll have a longer playaround later.
(When I click on the thumbnail 'Add Vignette' I get taken to a Black screen with no image)

The difference in the noise removal images is quite impressive from my perspective. I'm not sure what cross processing is though so can't comment on that.

Thanks for the feedback, I'd really like to develop it further, if I could add "blocks" that would be useful for people. Cross-processing and bleach bypass effects (which I'm adding next) I guess are pretty niche as post-procssing goes. Something like high quality noise reduction or hdr might be more "main stream". I did code up a "high key portrait" type effect which stripped out the background from a normal scene (e.g. room in a house) and replaced it with a white background to give a high key type effect. Though stripping off the background wasn't always as reliable as I had hoped.

Yes, thanks for flagging that, I think they're definitely a few gremlins still in there, it'll be this evening before I can get rid of those.

Absolutely - but not everyone has lightroom?

if you were able to develop this so that it's not all web based (eg a program that can be downloaded & installed on a user's PC) you might find a willing band of beta testers for this & any other projects.

It works well enough, although I couldn't see the noise reduction bit. Very handy for thise who don't have photo editing software.

At the moment I'm going down the route of it being web based and keeping it free (well aside from showing ads to help cover the server costs).

Made quite a few changes to my site so that its looking more like a webapp now (including the file upload), though its still missing a lot of functionality which will come over the next couple of weeks. Any feedback would be very welcome - the url again is http://www.purergb.com

Just tried it and ran into a problem trying to save the image, nothing happened after I pressed save.

Really appreciate the feedback - looks like I've quite a bit of bug fixing to do before adding any new imaging features

thanks again guys!
