cropping tool help

hi guys I am having a slight problem with my crop tool in cs2 , ( I hope this is going to make sence ) right when I used to crop, the box had little squares on that I could pull out so lets say after cropping I needed a bit more to one side all I had to do was click and hold then pull the box out.
well now I havent got these box's just some on the corners but this wont do what I want, I have looked at settings ect but cant get it back to how it was, can anyone help
 
It sounds like your crop tool has height and width values entered for it. This ensures that your aspect ratio remains the same when you use the crop tool and the resulting crop will be to the sizes entered. All you have to do to solve this is clear the values for Height, Width and resoulution from the crop toolbar.
 
when you select the crop tool on the tool bar click the clear button and you can make your selection any size.
 
thanks for the quick response there were numbers in the box's clicked clear and all was back to normal. but that brings me to another question ( sorry new to image editing ) how can I then resize the crop to a bigger size say the same as the origanal pic before I just put the size into the box's and it did it but now I cant or I dont have the squares in the crop tool. :bonk::bonk:
 
:thinking: What do you mean?

Do you mean that you've cropped an image but you want to undo the crop and get back to it's original size? If that's what you mean then you can either click undo or use the history to step back to before you cropped.

If that's not what you mean then you'll need to be clearer with your question!!:bonk:
 
sorry not very clear, if I want to make what I have just cropped bigger, how do I do that ?? before I am sure I just put the size in to the boxs above, but I cant do that now as the small squares I have just refound will go again
 
If you click on front image a crop will resize to the original image size and if you want to crop to a certain size just enter the size in the boxes, press clear to clear the sizes and crop the % of the picture original size freehand meaning if you crop half the image it will be half the original size.
 
If you want to make an image bigger use the Image->Image Size option.
