Hi all....

When processing in the past I have always used 6x4 ratio for my own photos for Flickr and 7x5 when processing paid wedding photos...

I have just completed a studio family portrait session and know that the client will be framing the results in decent-size prints and perhaps canvas too.

So my question is - What ratio should I crop in while processing these shots?

Many thanks

Thanks for the reply... I've already suggested 10x8 to them as a good-size print but if they then decide on other sizes it's an odd ratio to be able to stretch/frame-fill to other sizes...do you know what I mean?

I'm more thinking for the space I need to allow around the main subject for borders etc

This may either make no sense at all or seem very simple but it's my first time presenting images for customers to print themselves so it's difficult to 2nd-guess how they may be used...to that end is there a general save-all (e.g 6x4) that will allow further refitting to most other ratios?

Thanks

I set the aspect ratio each time I print an image, because it depends on the size of frame needed.

I usually leave 1/2" around the print too.
