When someone says "cropped 100%" what do they mean and how do you do it please?

Thank you

I searched for 100% crop explained and found this previous thread...

http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=112467&highlight=100%+crop+explained

edit... having read it Jo confuses things a little by mentioning 800 x 533 which seems to just set the shape of the crop rectangle in the example and not the size?

Anyway.. 100% is the view you get if you zoom in so 1 pixel on your screen shows 1 pixel in the picture...and if crop some out and save it you have a 100% crop.

The actual wording is a bit misleading. What it basically means is a crop from a picture being viewed at 100%.

As most pictures are too big to meet the picture posting rules of this and several other forums, a 100% crop allows people to see what a camera is capable of producing without needing to see the entire image.
