A friend of mine has asked me for a photo of him and his cousin who has passed away.

I would like to be able to print a photo for him - 9x6 or 8x6 - but I need to crop the only one I have of them together, which means the resolution is not good enough for a decent print. In addition, the photo is a little "washed out".

Can anyone help in cropping and enhancing?

Here is the low res jpeg that needs cropping

My attempt is below.

Many thanks for looking and your help.

No much wrong with your edit at all. I can't see you improving on this other than adding a bit of contrast for a little more punch. Don't overdo it, and just keep an eye on the whites -if they start to look blown out you've overdone it.

Thanks. Much appreciated.

Any advice on increasing the resolution?

Thanks

If you use the crop tool in photoshop on the raw file it can crop to an 8x6 @300dpi

@commjo: I agree with @CT. Your edit is very good. I tried working on your RAW file but any modifications were no better than yours. You are good to go!

Thanks.

Thank you. I'd forgotten about that.
