Critique - Photoshop composite, Avatar Cosplay

I'm still pretty new to photoshop, but I'll keep practicing - I'd appreciate any critique on this composite to help me improve.

The background is art, not a photograph - so I wonder if the subject was made more 'cartoony' to fit it would work better.

I like it also and agree it is a little dark also the red and white streak on the left is a bit distracting

Excellent work Dan. The background being art doesn't particularly show in my opinion, just looks out of focus. I think it works together well. I agree with Les about it being a tad dark, particularly on the face, but that is the only critique I can give.

Just checked out your other photos on Flickr too, good work.

Thanks both, the out of focus was the 'Camera aperture blur' filter- pretty cool for doing just this.
