Is this a case of the credit crunch biting or are folks cashing in on the recent 50% retail price hike?

(Whoops - probably the wrong forum to discuss this. :bonk:. Mods, please move!)

Dunno....but this is the wrong place to ask the question, this is a sales forum, not a discussion one ;)

sorted :)

I can only speak for myself butfor me to buy different kit it was time to move on unsed kit. take the 50mm I sold great little lens but I only used it a few times so why keep it ? I have noticed though how the prices have gone up in tha last few weeks

Bit of both perhaps. I took advantage by putting a 10-20mm on E-bay. I paid £235 and got £350. I expect most of the members on here would have the good sense to know the difference between a good deal and someone cashing in.

I need to sell my old kit so I can buy some new kit :)

Yeah, I'm just selling stuff on to pay for new kit  no profiteering here.

I will have some kit to sell soon, but its because I am upgrading not cashing in. The people selling because of the credit crunch are sadly more likely to be raising money than cashing in on the prices.

Just shelled out for a new lens and shelling out for one for babytiger so dunno bout the credit crunch the company I work for is booming ...we must be the lucky ones but I do feel for those made or getting made redundant

Am sure folk are just trying to reassess their assets in these trying times. Can't see anyone profiteering on here to be honest.

Perhaps I'm an idealist, but I think most of the time on here, people aren't out to make a quick buck. I've sold a couple of lenses, a Nintendo DS & a Wii on here, and I'd like to think each of the buyers got a good deal in terms of price, and I got the peace of mind of 'sort of' knowing I was selling to someone safe, as opposed to Ebay buyer russian roulette!! :D

i've bought a laptop and a new lens on here in the last 2 months and i feel like i got a fantastic deal on both.

I think there is always stuff for sale...economic disaster or not :p

I agree.

I prefer buying from TP members (including Kerso) rather than risk a scamming on ebay to save a few quid (I was impressed by the effort of TP members to sort out a sale on here that went pear-shaped a few months ago).

I have subscribed to the For Sale thread for several months and noticed how number of items had rocketed recently.

I was curious as to whether members were being effected by the credit crunch  or were taking the opportunity to shift some gear and selling at the top of the market (hopefully).

I've no problem with that.
