I'm thinking of signing up to PS CC. The thing is i don't have the fastest of broadband connections (about 2mbs, i live in the a**e end of nowhere). I understand that i don't need to be connected all of the time to use it, only every so often. My concern is more to do with the downloading of PS & LR. How big are the files?, Can i leave it downloading whilest i'm out or asleep, Will it stop every so often to ask me question that need a response before it can continue downloading?
Thanks for any replies.
Just a very wild rough off-hand in theory guesswork with no guarantees there, you understand, not trying to get your hopes up or anything, so don't blame me if my maths is off by miles, it's just to give you some ideas.
Assuming my broadband speed is around 3 mbs, I have found that downloading one app (whatever app you like but let's say one of the bigger apps, like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., not smaller ones like Lightroom or such), I noticed it would take about a bit of an hour or thereabouts. I think I once started one of them just before the BBC 10 o'clock News, then half an hour later, I found out it was about more than 30%, but bear in mind, the progress bar and per cent figure is not just for downloading only, it also includes installing too. You could leave it downloading in the background while you work on your computer, if you're worried about your slow speed, then leave the Internet alone, don't surf or anything, just leave it for CC to download.
After that, I understand that you have about up to 90 days (I think) where you can work with your software before they need to go online to check you're still paying your monthly membership to CC. But that would only be like few seconds of checking.
And no, it won't ask you questions, it'll just continue downloading then installing, then after that, it's just ready for you to click on the icon.
