Support Request - Building a transparency frame in CS3 to import into LR3 -

I am trying to find out how to build a png file photo frame which can be imported directly into Lightroom for framing. Photoshop tutorials show you how to build a basic frame around a picture but not how to build a transparency template for multiple use.

Any assistance will be appreciated. Regards, Paul

Do you mean just a simple border/frame or something more complex like a magazine cover mock-up?

This plugin I discovered on here yesterday is great for simple borders/frames.

I would like to know how to build my own frames in Photoshop ideally. From basic to more tailored ones. Have searched Youtube for tutorials but with no luck!

Thanks for your response,

Paul

Just turn off the background layer in photoshop or delete it. As long as you can see the transparency in the image when you save as .png, then the transparency will be saved within this file format automatically.

Basic workflow:

New image.
New layer.
Delete background layer.
Work in any layers creating your frame using various tools and techniques you can find online.
As long as you can see the transparency grid in photoshop (the chequerboard) your image will have transparency.
Save as .png (it automatically flattens with the transparency when you save as .png)
Save .psd for future changes.

simples :-)

Save it as PNG24 for a full alpha channel (if you have drop shadows etc.).
