Creating thumbnails

I need to include photos of a step by step process I have gone through in some software for uni. I have all the photos, but how do I put them on a single file? I mean with say 8 small pictures on the one jpeg picture. I have CS3, but have never done this before, no doubt there is an easy way of doing it?

File, Automate, Contact Sheet

Choose open files (open them all first) or select the folder

Or if you have Lightroom exactly the same process again really.
Just select the photos you want to include and go to the Print module and press contact sheet, select how many photos you want on the sheet and tell it to save as a JPEG rather than print.
