Creating an old polaroid

Hi, can anyone help me out with this idea I have.

I have been browsing the web and some images of old polaroid pictures have caught my eye. thus:

Is it possible using something like paint shop pro to take a pin-sharp modern digital image and turn it into a "retro" picture like the above?

any help would be appreciated as I don't have much of a clue about post-processing an image.

There's a freeware program called Poladroid that creates a poloroid style image, complete with frame - it kind of works like a poloroid camera as well. Can't remember the address to download - but it comes up on a google

+1, even though I have CS4 I use poladroid for those retro looking snaps, it saves a lot of PP work on my behalf.

Theres a Polaroid generator here http://rawimage.deviantart.com/art/Polaroid-GENERATOR-V1-42651542 which will produce this (and other effects)

Or you can find Pola borders and produce this yourself in photoshop.

As we have created quite some buzz about Analog Instant Photography over the past 12 months, the Polaroid licensee - The Summit Global Group - now can't resist any longer and announced at a press conference on October 13th in Hongkong that they will re-launch some of the most famous Polaroid Instant Cameras.

Therefore they are commissioning The Impossible Project to develop and produce a limited edition of Polaroid branded Instant Films in the middle of 2010.
