Creating an AV file

I want to create a short AV file combining video, stills, text and voice.

As its for a charity I need to do it ideally for free.

What software/freeware would recommend

If on windows you could try windows movie maker, or this which is free

Not used this so cannot say how good it is. You could also use Davinci Resolve which is free but not that easy to use.

Animoto or PowToon - although you could probably do it in PowerPoint or LibreOffice Presentation given the will

I had forgotten about Animoto. I use to use it when I was a pro (retired a few years now).

It is good and might be ok for this. Not sure I can edit the video bits though. Need to cut the sections of footage into smaller pieces.

VLC will allow you to do the cutting
