creating a slideshow

I am trying to create a simple slideshow of photos.

Basilcally I have alot of photos of my boys and I would like to create a simple web page which will show the first image and then cycle through each image in the same place on the page.
A bit like an animated gif, but obviously with hundreds of images the file would be huge so it would need to work like a slide show. I would rather not have navigation buttons on it but I suppose it would be useful if the viewer had to stop viewing them.

I like simpleviewer but it needs a thumbnail on the page and I can only get it to use a batch of images with porta. Any other version or using it independantly require manually putting in each image name.

If you have Lightroom you can create slide shows in that otherwise JAlbum (free) is an excellent programme with a lot of skins you can use to create slideshows

I don't think you can embed the Lightroom slideshows on websites, when you export them they are a pdf file and the slideshow only seems to work on Acrobat Reader.

I'm sure there are Web Module presets for a slide show for Lightroom if you look hard enough...

I was hoping for somthing a bit simpler. I will look into Lightroom again. I did use it before butdidn't really like the way it stored the files, but as it's for a one off process it might just work. Thanks

You can use Lightroom to create web slide shows, use the Web not the Slideshow option.

Yep, I agree with Kerioak, you can do them using the "web" option. You can also download plugin galleries... search for these using google...

Jalbum is a very powerful program for building galleries, and it's got some very nice flash ones being built by people now... check out jalbum.net
