Christ! This bloody summer must be the worst for donkeys years, wind rain rain and wind, lack of sunshine and low temperatures (in central Scotland anyway), even the fruits in my garden are struggling this year, it's pi $$ING me off now. <rant over>

It's he'll being in Southern Scotland just now - which is why I'm in Southern Spain just now for three weeks :)
I'll think about you...

Yip, bedding plants were a waste of money this year. Blooms have been very poor.

Currently clear blue skies and 26 degrees here in Essex and the predicted heatwave doesn't arrive until Tuesday or Wednesday next week. (y)

Well what it is, you see, you are getting the dregs of the weather we don't want, we send it up there.
Now, if you'd voted for independence, you could have your own weather :D

Its currently (18:15) 77oF ( 25oC ) just North of London with a very warm breeze

Of course having said that, we've had a few downpours recently too, the water level in my pond rose 2 inches in 20 minutes not so long back!

Currently clear blue skies and 25°c in my little corner of Kent.
It's been like that (barring a few brief but heavy downpours) for the last 7 weeks. :-)

Working on it :P

Clear blue sky here today in Cambs and 25c, nice cooling breeze this morning on my stroll round the local RSPB reserve.

Very pleasant although I will be pleased when the kids are back in captivity, most of their minders seem to be oldies these days.

It must have been a good Summer so far down here in Kent, because I have been watering the plants virtually every day for ages, and the plums are ripening nicely.

Please tell me that is not a euphemism!

Yeah, my son who lives in Tenerife messaged me this week to tell me it was 43C (109F)

and laughed at me a couple of weeks ago when I posted a Photo of Car Dial showing 73F

Has any one checked your Spellchecker for Tenerife, suggests Stiffener or Terrine

Suggests generics for me.
Yours are better.

... nice ripe melons? :)

It is rather warm here. Currently at 28C, drinking wine with my feet in the pool.

Dunno how hot it was out on the course this afternoon. Far too bleedin' 'ot to do the full 18 holes! Thank the pantheon for modern sun screen!!! (And medicine/surgery!)

There is being a definite south east/north west split across the UK with regards to the weather so far this Summer. Like others had already mentioned, it really hadn't been too bad at all here at Kent but I can't imagine people saying "Oh do you remember the summer of 2016?" ten years down the line. Nothing like 1976 which is still being recalled by anyone over the age of 45, like I can as I was 8 at the time.

God, I just suddenly felt old again.

1976 was the last good summer. We live in England so that's is what we get. The green and pleasant land. Every so often we get a few good days but in general it's well balanced. That's why we go to the med or other hot places for holidays

Summer been decent enough in the beautiful south. So much so I had enough of having BBQs. And yes its hotting up further. I which we could send some up North as it is plentiful down here. I'll send it all week after next

Don't. I was 23 then, but I was living in Hong Kong and haven't a clue what the summer was like in the UK. Always felt for my mother though. She left South Africa in the winter of 1947 to be married and live in Scotland and, by all accounts, that was one of he worst winters for years!

1976 was absolutely mad, I kept losing my balls down cracks in the fairway:eek:

Could do with a bit of rain here in East Anglia. Golf courses are struggling a bit.

47 can only remember small pieces having to battle with the snow going to school.

76 bought a house that year and spent from May to August bank holiday doing it up.

82 bought a Land Rover October 81 and the winter play in the snow with it.

May this year southern Scotland for 3 weeks Dumfries and Galloway temperatures were high then, too high for us.

Yeah, may was hot in south West Scotland. Been crap since then though.

Its been too hot for me here in the south east for too long.

Dave

Be pleased to see the arrival of Autumn and some cooler days, anything over 70f is too hot for me.

If it continues getting warmer in the east reckon I may have to relocate to northern climes, Shetland looks to have the ideal climate.

Summer what's that, vague feeling I recall a big bright ball in the sky at some point in the past

Hey, what you do in your own time is up to you...we're not judging.

This copied straight from the BBC Weather page

UK Overnight
Dry and fine, with plenty of sunny spells.

Cloud will gradually break up to leave a largely clear night with some mist or fog patches, though cloud will linger across parts of Northern Ireland and southeast England. A cooler night than last night too for many.

No, the white one is the moon, what chance have we got of an accurate forecast

Bloody BBC forecast saying the weekend will be nice is all that gets me through the week sometimes ..... and has it been nice? Has it [PLEASE DON'T TRY TO BYPASS THE SWEAR FILTER]!
