Crap day

My condolences. It's always hard when we have to say goodbye to our best friends. Like many I've been through it more times than I'd like, but I'm still prepared to go through it again ... I guess on balance they bring far more joy than sadness. :) Just under a year ago I lost my German Sheppard - I still have his lead hanging around, at first it hurt to see it, but now I remember all the stupid things he did and all fun and joy he brought. In time Nick you will also remember them with a smile too. Hang in there fella.

:plus1: my wife as the collar of my best mate who I lost last Christmas and I have is plastic water (traveller) bottle ,I still get upset when I see them but I do think of the good times and that usually gets me back in happy mode

We lost ours last year ,and after a few months a silent empty house got depressing ,all our kids and g.kids clubbed together and got us a puppy for Xmas ,believe me it helps ,you. Can't replace the old one but a new one helps the hurt .

got us a puppy for Xmas ,t .

a turkey is more traditional - i doubt a puppy would feed a whole family. ;)

but yes getting another dog does help and if you don't want to spend the earth , rescue is always an option - if you want a puppy wait til about january...

My old girl's collar hangs in the hall where her lead always did, and one of these days I'll get around to taking her big old water bowl out of the garden (though the birds do seem to have adopted that) :-)
My husband suggested removing the collar from the hallway once.
Just the once though :-)

Really sorry to hear this, Nick.
It might take a while to sink in.
It always does when someone we care about is no longer with us.
Remembering all the good times might help a bit, knowing she had a good and happy life.

That's great, Nick. If you feel that the time is right for another dog then it is right for you.
She looks superb and will change your life for the better.

Good luck.

Awwwwwww
She looks lovely

May she settle in well and swiftly

By the way Nick, when she's (name please) settled in, we require pictures, 'cause she really does look like a stunner. :-)

She's called Roxy - he said so in the opening post with her piccie !!

Thanks everyone. Yep, her name is Roxy at the moment. Not sure if we will change it or not yet, it may grow on us, and does fit quite well. Rottie X.. Rox? I'm sure there will be lots of photos @viv1969 ;)

Awww cuteness Nick, happy for you all :D

Gorgeous. Enjoy.

Is a Rottie x Doberman a Robberman? Or a Doberweiller? Enjoy her!

Well, her ears look a bit elvish!!!

Here you go @viv1969 another phone pic for you. She should be arriving at ours at about 2pm today (while im at work and Isobel is at the childminders), so the Wife will have her all to herself for a few hours.

By the way, ive not had much success with my suggestion of 'Dobby' as a name. Ill keep working on it...

What a face! She looks like a Millie/Billie/Tillie sort of a name would suit.

Nick, I'm so pleased for you and she looks an absolute belter - just a word of warning though ... with those eyes she will soon have you wrapped around her little paw in no time! ;)

Oh Nick....she's so lovely. What a gorgeous face.

Previous owner gave her up because she wasn't 100% Rottweiler...

...jeez

Previous owner gave her up because she wasn't 100% Rottweiler...
And they bought / acquired her in the first place because?
Some people just never cease to amaze me :(

At least she has a good home now, what ever she is called ..
( BTW she looks like a "Daisy" to me :D )

Apparently, they bought her from a breeder who stated she WAS 100% rottie, but it became apparent quite soon after that she isn't, so they didn't want her. Tried going back to the breeder, and they had disappeared, so they just left her with this centre in Latchingdon. Not sure what they paid for her but if it was from a breeder, im pretty sure it would have been a lot more than the adoption fee that weve paid :)

Mmmm...Daisy...

I can sort of see that, but even so :(
The length of the snout and the tiny paws must have given them a hint at the time.
And yeah, Last time I looked pure ones were around £800 and hybrids half that.
So they were well and truly stitched up,, or the price would have given it away,
Still their loss is your gain (y)

Mmmm...Daisy...
Its better than Lucifer or Killer :D

That face says '' Now you're not going to leave me are you?'' Some people are just horrendous the way they treat dogs!
