CR2 raw files to lightroom 2

Sturggling to get them to import. It comes up with ''the files are unsupported or damaged'' Is there a free download somewhere that will allow me to do this?

What camera are the files coming from? If it's new you may need to update to the latest version of LR.
 
It's highly probable that the version of CR2 files are not supported by the version of Lightroom you have. Check with the Adobe website to see what version you need. It maybe you simply need to upgrade to the latest version of LR2, which I think is 2.7. This is a free upgrade, and has I think all the latest versions of CR2 catered for.
 
If you can't get an upgrade then you'll either have to use the crappy Canon DPP program, or else convert them to DNGs using the separate Adobe DNG converter.
 
Works fine with Lightroom 2.7.
