Hi everyone,

Don't post much on here! But would like to add this..

Had my 500f4 serviced by cps Elstree, had a turn round time of 4days!! I am a cps gold member, but still think "Platinum service!" Superb price too!
Hope this helps anyone with Canon kit?

Elstree are fab - they performed a recall on my 1DsIII in a day and cleaned the sensor / replaced the rear LCD cover FOC!

Might get them to calibrate my 70-200 when I get back from France - do you have to send it to them or can you arrange to drop in personally and wait for it to be done (yeah I know, wishful thinking)
 
You can drop it in personally yes, but unlikely you can wait for it to be done, unless you sleep in reception. Are you a CPS member? If so you'll get priority - otherwise I'd imagine it'd take a few days.
 
I am a CPS member yes, although only the lowest level.

Just to clarify - is it up to me which centre I send equipment to? It appears you just print off and fill out the PDF repair form on the CPS site but there's no information on where you send stuff.

Can I elect to send stuff to Elstree? Do I contact them directly first to book it in or at least warn them it's coming or just send it to them? Bit wary about just sending something off without at least contacting them first.

just put the stuff in a box, bung your cps green sticker on the top of the box, make sure all your stuff is registered on the cps website, its simple.

i think elstree are the only center that does the 5dmk3 and 1dx as well.

Spoke to Elstree earlier today and got a reference number for the job - will send the lens in next week when I'm back from Le Mans :D
