Evening everyone ,

Im going to the British Superbikes at Oulton park this weekend an im tempted to try using a CPL filter on my Sigma 70-200. Im just wondering if any one here has used one for shooting superbikes an did you find it beneficial? If you have could i see the results? Ive used it at track days but unsure whether it would have the same effect shooting bikes.

Thanks.

Be careful with circular polarisers. A lot of race cars and bikes run with lightweight Perspex type screens, and circular polarisers can give a very strange rainbow effect on them. Personally, I wouldn't bother.

Hope this helps.

Simon.

Also worth remembering that a polariser will reduce the light gathering by between one and two stops.

The lesser light can be a problem certainly with some non branded cpl and some don't even work.
The Hoya HD (not the pro) is expensive but work well as intended plus allows about 2/3rds-1 stop light through compared to most other cpl.
I'm not saying it lets more light in than not using one of course just that it lets in more light than nigh on most other cpl's.
Camera King have the 77mm at £51.95 but are out of stock and haven't answered back when the expect more.
Amazon have them for £63.95 inc p&p for prime members.
