Why? What makes you think I'm a Bob Marley fan? Because I'm not particularly and of the many thousands of Reggae/Ska/Bluebrae/Rock Steady/ Lovers Rock etc etc tracks I possess I only have one Marley CD/LP.

As it goes that guy's version of Redemption Song is OK.

How do you feel about remix's?

Reminds me of clubbing. The days when I was off my face trying to work out which was the door to the gents and which was the door to wonderland :)

Nae really, it just p***es me off when people know I love Reggae in all it's formats (except Dancehall) that I must automatically be a Marley fan.

That's like saying if you like rock you must be a fan of Motorhead (who are a great band). Just don't work imo. Marley was great at what he did and really brought Reggae to the public eye but I was listening to Desmond Dekker and such like years before I'd even heard of Marley.

I remembered you were into variations (rather than your stereotypical 'reggae' but wasn't sure if you'd approve.

Edit - you beat me to it. (y)

Don't get me wrong I do like Marley and 100% respect what he did to popularize Reggae and the Rastafarian religion/faith. He was undoubtedly a great musician and a fantastic cultural lyricist and I'd never slag him off in any way, he's just not someone I listen to very often. Also it annoys me that because someone has a copy of Legend, they think they are a Reggae fan but couldn't even tell you the difference between Slackness and Ska or tell Bluebeat from Rocksteady (go look em up;)).

I couldn't agree more albeit with my music.

My eldest daughter (14) seems to be growing out of her her 'One Direction' phase.

I don't expect her to pander to my music but I had a shock the other day.

We were going on a road trip and told her to get some music for the car.

She chose:

BM Legend (duck for cover)
Rush
Cat Stevens

and her favourite (not sure if you remember her)....................

Some people like it some hate it I like the malevolence in Blackie Lawless's voice
