I always like to see bands doing cover versions.

Feel free to post your favourites up however rough and ready.

A few to kick off..........

1: Not a band I particularly liked in their day but a song i love.

3: Chris Cornell performs One (by U2) but with One (by Metallica) lyrics

Bit of an obvious one, but I do love the Arctics version of Girls Aloud Love Machine... :D

Love a good cover version. Just back from holiday and listened to this one a lot. Paul Weller Early Morning Rain .

My choices are (some are on youtube, some aren't) :

Strawberry switchblade - Sunday morning (original by Velvet Underground)
Thumpermonkey lives - Tam Lin (a traditional murder ballad, so there is no definitive original version, but this one is based on Fairport Convention's reading)
The Stranglers - Walk on by (originally recorded by Dionne Warwick)
Mike Oldfield - Platinum IV (original by Philip Glass as "North Star")
Tangerine Dream - Love on a real train from the "Risky Business" OST (original is section VII of Music for 18 musicians by Steve Reich)

Gus Black - Paranoid

Noel Gallagher - There is a light that never goes out

Tool - No Quarter

Lissie - Nothing Else Matters

My Morning Jacket - Rocketman

Not a great fan of covers but do enjoy almost all of Hayseed Dixie's offerings.

Led Zeppelin :D

Some interesting tunes to listen there

This surprised me how well it worked when I saw them doing it: Travis - Hit Me Baby

Love Siouxsie's version of Dear Prudence.

On a Beatles theme, sort of, John Lennon's Rock n Roll covers album.

And continuing the Scottish theme, Aztec Camera do Van Halen's 'Jump' (which was the B Side to All Need Is Everything - this is the extended 'Loaded' version which I'm convinced I have on ten inch vinyl)

cant leave out this one.. the drumming from beginning to end.. outstanding to keep the tempo for so long

Maiden United...........
