Cover songs

Darius Rucker's rendition of Champagne Supernova at the O2 last Wednesday night.

Couple of links on youtube but as recorded on phones it is shocking quality.

One of my favourites, but which most people would put in the list on the other post is Nash the Slash's version of Smoke on the Water - Dopes on the Water :D

There is a punk cover of 'I want it that way' but I don't categorically know the artist, I think they're called Reliant K.

Also just remmeberd The Bates' cover of Bille Jean

Doh I just posted a couple in the other thread

Can't believe no one has mentioned Run DMC's version of Walk This Way

How about Metalica whiskey in the jar, great song1 (& video:p)

Surely that was a collaboration, not a cover. Unless there is a Run DMC version without Aerosmith that I'm not aware of.

Don't let the sun go down on me - Roger Daltrey

It only features Steve Tyler and Joe Perry, so it's not strictly 'Aerosmith', along new vocal and guitar parts and sampled drum track, so where do you draw the line?

It's more cover than collaboration in my book.. either way it's better than the original :)

Stevie Rays version of Little Wing - orgasmic:cool:

and.........dare I say it, cos I don't reckon any of his others.......
Clapton doing Stone Free live:thumbs:

:plusone:

And don't forget his cover of Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) as well - beats the Hendrix version hands down, imho...

I'll take the Gil Evans' Orchestra versions of the Jimi Hendrix pieces, so long as Gordon Sumner wasn't guesting.

Metallica have done some great ones, the top three being:

Stone Cold Crazy
Breadfan
Killing Time

Also the Black Crowes doing Hard To Handle.

Machine Head doing Battery by Metallica. Even though it's pretty much note for note, Maclain is ten times the drummer Lars ever was.

Ryan Adams doing Wonderwall.

Seu Jorge doing Rebel Rebel.

Eddie Vedder doing You've Got To Hide Your Love Away.

Nine Inch Nails doing Dead Souls.

Therapy? doing Isolation.

There's loads really :D

Bohemian Rhapsody - Hayseed Dixie

In fact I prefer most of their covers

The Stranglers Walk on by original by Dionne Warwick

Isacc Hayes version remains the best for me....
