Countryside Time Lapse

What sort of time between shots do you use for something like this - and how do you decide? I am totally new to video and still trying to learn what the TERMS are even - just discovered time lapse is on my camera. I've only had it 8 years!
 
I used a 5 second interval. If unsure what interval, then always shoot at a short interval than you may need. You can always delete photos later.

So in my case, if I felt 5 seconds was too quick, I could have deleted every other image which would give me a 10 second interval...

You kinda get an idea depending on what you're shooting. I've done a couple of daytime cloud ones now and a couple of night ones.
 
Thank you - I am going to have a play with the camera to learn how to set the timer thing. Might just have a go this weekend with the kayaks in Northumberland. Just from a fixed spot.
