Yes
Just wondered if anyone has this jacket and could share their experience please. Alternatively if you had considered one but went with something different your input would be appreciated.

The obvious competitor is a Paramo ? but I'd appreciate any alternative suggestions for a decent rustle free waterproof for birding / wildlife photography. However I don't want camouflage so I think that rules out surplus stuff

I have CI Rover and Falcon jackets. I use the Rover during winter months. Excellent functional jackets

I once had a Paramo (Halcon - I think). Condensation control was excellent. I thought the tailoring was bloody awful. I got the impression it was designed to suit people built like milk bottles. The inner lining was a very shiny and slippery material. If the jacket was not zipped up it slid off my shoulders.

General criticism of Rover, Halcon and similar jackets .............. grossly over-priced.

Thanks for that. The price has made me stop and think a bit but my research suggests they have cornered this part of the market. How well are your CI jackets wearing please

Wearing very well. I forget their age, but it is over 5 years. I wash them every year (maybe a little longer) in the w/machine using Nikwax then tumble dry. That leaves water beading nicely.

I buy 90% of all my outdoor gear from Ardmoor. The Stalking section works well for silent clothing. Loads of different brands to choose from in one place. Do your homework.

Yes, looks like some very good buys in there. Very big savings to be made.

Super to deal with, even sent me a smaller size as i was in a rush even though i hadnt returned the larger size. Great comms with them and quick delivery.

You could try the Keela Falkland Jacket, I've had mine for about 8 years now and it's still going strong. It's single layer Ventile, and has kept me dry in an all-day downpour. It looks similar to the Linnet, but is a bit cheaper if you shop around. Try here for instance, although I have no experience with this company.

Cheers,

Dave

A while back I bought a pair of Seeland side zip wellies from them. Superfast service.
They are offering 10% off first order if you sign up for their newsletter. That amounts to a good few quid for anyone buying a pricy jacket.

Thanks for that. I'll have a good nosey around that site. Out of interest can I ask what waterproofs you are currently using

Im at work just now but i have a wide wide range of clothing depending on where and when im going out. Everything from Russian cold weather clothing rated to -50 degrees right up to light weight camouflage long sleeve t shirts. I will reply with the actual gear tomorrow and will give info on them.

Forgot about this thread. Ardmoor have a sale on which if you can find a correct size for yourself can be very good. Just picked up a pair of Harkila Pro Hunger Extend trousers at a very good price. Looked at them a few months ago when they were full price so happy with my purchase.
