Could someone have a look at these backdrops and see what you think?

OK, I have been eye-ing up these things for a while and quite like some of them but for these ones that have the wall and flooring in the same background, I am struggling to picture them realistically.

I guess it would look good, providing I cut the feet off of the subject and make sure that the entire drop is basically hanging, am I right? If anyone has an example snap that would be great

I too had been looking for something similar for a photo that is hopefully going in a few mags. I ended not going down that route. Im building a custom set as I couldn't find anywhere that had the desired look.

I didn't want to get one for a few reasons.
1. Size, not big enough for my use - You said you will cut feet of etc. if its a 10 foot id say get a fake skirting board and place it over where the wallpaper merges with the wood. You migh be stuck with the limit of 5' but you could buy two and mirror them some way
2. Glare/Reflection/Shine - I dont want to have any shine that *may* happen if using vinyl
3. Realism - Never will be as good as the real thing/set

But ideally, depends what its being used for, assuming you are not doing any really important photography, but all in all you should be alright.

Well yes it is important photography but I am just trying to get any idea of how hey will look in reality. I have also been looking at the skirting and flooring option but would be nice if in some cases I could just get away with using the backdrop or maybe have some of them to offer clients a few more options.

I see.

Well, in that case I'd get it, its not going to break the bank too much and you'd most likely be able to sell it if it doesn't turn out how you pictured it to. If its all good, you could get another or different styles etc.

But still consider building a small set - It will work wonders, you could even paint over it, paper it two sides = two styles.

But also consider waiting for someone else's input as they may give a different recommendation etc.

If you don't mind ordering from America, there is this site: https://lemondropstop.com/en_us/

Most of their backgrounds include a photo where that has been used and a lot of them look incredibly real! There are also UK based sites who sell similar but they're pricier. About the same price in pounds as lemon drops is in dollars :(

Those are really good, I like that they have a preview image but how much does it cost by the time you have got it to the UK?

Customs is a small percentage of the total cost. They have a facebook site, too - they run a lot of deals and things.

This is one UK based site I was looking at http://www.props-for-togs.co.uk/

But, like I said, their cost (and the others I looked at) pretty much matches lemon drop. So what lemon drop charges $50 for, it's likely around £50+ on the UK sites :(

I just tried to use lemon drop to find out how much postage would cost and it said they can't deliver to my address.

I got a message back from lemon drop quoting about $70 for delivery to the UK :-S

Oh yikes! I've liked them on facebook but haven't gotten to the point of ordering anything yet. So will that be sent on a flying unicorn then?

I would hope so for that price, came as a bit of a shock frankly. Any more in this country?

I know someone who has very similar. They are great for baby photos or small children if they are static. Once folded he uses a skirting board across the middle. It does look pretty real.
I use stuff from photography floor & backdrops, they're very good.
If you're worried about reflections,
Just buy a can of matting spray from any art shop.
