Cotswold and Panamoz

I think the lady Chancellor had a word or two about imports in the budget.

I ordered a new camera + Lens from Panamoz on the 10th of Jan and still haven’t had a shipping notification, doesn’t take this long usually so they’re either very busy or the orders gone missing :p

Send them an email, not sure if it's still Tina but she responds very quickly
 
I messaged Cotswolds late last night re a possible lens purchase taking into account the Chinese new year , and got a reply first thing this morning

I might just go ahead with Cotswold tbh I have a lens to buy and have had no response from Panamoz either.
 
Actually scrap that Tina just replied to my email but Cotswolds aren't replying to me.

Ordered Canon 200-800 on 4 January. Delivered 9 January. Sent from Hong Kong too. Impressive.
 
It’s the 19th and I still haven’t received a shipping notification from Panamoz. This is the longest I’ve had to wait, the item was in stock too when I ordered.

You may also check the order status and details online. Simply login to Panamoz.com, and go to your Buying History, all of your previous orders will be shown on the page. You are able to review the details of each order, the price, the item and the order status.

I ordered a lens from Cotswold on 19th Dec - Arrived 6th Jan. Given that they say 7-14 working days it was actually 8 days but that did include all the Christmas non-days like the 23rd / 31st so pretty much spot on.

how do you normally contact Cotswold.? I find they respond within 24 hrs. i've even had David at Cotswold reply at 9pm at night

Yeah it would seem the guy David is their only employee in the U.K and I am gonna guess he works another job full time as well so is more likely to get a reply outside of normal working hours.

I did get a reply eventually.

Funny enough you contact Cameras Dori which is just a front end for Cotswolds although can be slightly cheaper the same guy replies but calls himself Dave rather than David. :D

Not sure the reason why maybe tax etc but yeah they are both the same business although Cotswolds is registered in the U.K and CanersaDori is not. Payment details for both are the same as well.

I had similar but then spotted they used the email from paypal not the contact details I'd put on the form. Camera arrived 4 or 5 days after order.

I had an email this morning from them stating I can expect delivery between the 25th-30th of Jan, a lot longer than usual but at least I know it’s on the way.

Thanks for that Tommy, as i was going to ask forum members if any of them have heard of/used Camerasdori. Im interested in getting the Panasonic S5 100mm macro lens, an it would seem that most "grey" sellers dont list that lens. But Camerasdori do list the lens, so that might be the way forward for me.

Just placed my first order with Cotswold. Normally I'd just go with Panamoz as I've had brilliant service in the past.
On this occasion Cotswold is a significant price saving.
I'm hoping that delivery is quick as I'm now without one of my main lenses......

I am not enjoying buying from Cotswold so far and wish I had placed the order with Panamoz instead. The first time I placed an order with Cotswold it was fine. Less impressed this time.

Panamoz have always been great in terms of communication. Cotswolds honestly are a bit crap.

Order placed and received an email saying order was processing waited a week before emailing them and told to basically go away and they would email tracking when it was available. Took a few days for them to respond to the email as well and had to email twice to get a response. Not impressed so far at all and think I will avoid ordering from them in the future.

Have also since heard that Cotswold are difficult when it comes to returns etc.

How recently did you place your order?
 
Lens I would like to buy is £639 at Cotswold and £830 at Panamos, so choice is clear I think.

The lens I wanted to buy was £849 at Panamoz and £649 at Cotswolds. I emailed Panamoz who offered it at £720 wish I had of went with that now.

Well, even if they drop it and put out in the middle of both, still its gonna be lens bought on grey market. So as long as both shops provide the product, even with delay, or possibly return/comms issues, still I would go with cheaper.

They do say on their site that its about 7-11 working days. I tend to find that it sits in processing status for a while then suddenly you get a notification of the courier delivery date. So a week and a bit is around 7 days.

Ive ordered from Cotswolds a couple of times, including a 400 F2.8 so a big purchase, and never had issues. Ordered an 85 1.4 on Monday but not had confirmation of dispatch yet. Felt like it was quicker in the past I must say
 
I did receive my Cotswold order and everything was fine with it however due to lack of communication from then and the very long response times when I contacted them, they wouldn’t be somewhere I would use again unless I was unable to source something elsewhere.
 
Mine was dispatched this morning. I think my R6 was dispatched within 2 days, this time ordered monday night dispatched 6am friday so a bit of a delay but generally I've had good service so far. Not had to raise a warenty claim though

I find that it goes into "Processing" then the next thing you get a courier tracking number directly
