Took this photograph in Paphos.....Its a viewing box , not a bus shelter btw. Thought it covered HIGHLIGHT , so I'm going to use it

Highlight.jpg

I like both of those, but Highlight has the edge for me.

I've no idea what a "viewing box" actually is, but it really works to frame that area of the composition. Almost like a photo within a photo.
The sunset is beautiful too - very subtle but still very effective.

I havn't either....it was just a box you could sit in....wasn't on a bus route either ;) ;)

Thanks for the comments

Welcome back. :)

I really like the Night shot. It evokes the atmosphere of warm, relaxing evenings on holiday with nothing more taxing to do than find a good restaurant! Excellent.

The Highlight shot is excellent, too. I love the composition and the various elements work well together. It could easily have ended up as a picture of two halves - but it hasn't.

You've certainly set a high standard for the seond half of the 52. :)

Jean

Thanks Jean

Bah, I´ve already commented on this in your old thread so you´ll have to go and look there

Don't blame me! ;)

I did , your honour, but the forum stitched me up! ;)

Night is so evocative of holidays abroad :( and I'm not there :D b****r - very nice!

Your highlight shot is lovely! Warm, great silhouette and well framed - sunset from a box!

Really nice :)

The night shot is a cracking shot, really like that, it has good composition, its well balanced and I love the colour. Great image and great to see you raise your game. Class swot.

Your highlight shot is very good too, maybe not quite as strong and I would have been tempted to straighten the shelter, fits the theme really well though.

Sorry replied on your other thread, but I said something along the lines of great shots, hope you had a good holiday!! :D :D

Welcome back...

The night shot was a great piece of photography with great lighting...

Highlight works well too, and fits the theme nicely...

My Father in Law has this maniac of a cat that goes beserk when a plastic ring pull is put in his way. Best one of about 50 shots....the b****r is too fast for me! ;)

Picked this shot as it proves everything is easy, but only when you know how!!

Easy.jpg

Coudn't resist this shot for this theme

Catch up time on these!

Fun: What a beautiful cat and that can't have been an easy shot to get. Great detail in that one, you can even see the individual claws.

Easy : Well done on catching him in flight. That doesn't look like an easy shot to me!

Colour : My favourite of the 3. Where was that taken?

WOW, catch up for me too:

Night: GREAT great shot, love this
The one what comes after Night...CBA to scroll up, LOVELY!
Fun: not your best, but a fun shot nonetheless
Easy: CRACKING shot, really like that one!
Colour: nice subtle hints of it there, lovely shot

Time for me to catch up!

Fun: Well done for getting a lovely shot. He looks full of mischief and I can imagine the frustration as his tail disappears out of shot time after time.

Easy: This is my favourite of the three. You've caught the moment when he's got to flap really hard to stay airborne - excellent timing and a great sense of movement.

Colour: I love this as a picture (boats and water do it for me every time :)) and it's really nice as it is, but if I'm going to be picky, I'd have preferred a tad more saturation to drive home the 'colour' theme.

A good three weeks, indeed.

Jean

Well done on catching that first one. My cat is 14 years old and when the mood takes her can fly around with the best of them... There's no way I'd get a shot then. Good details in that shot.

Easy... who are you kidding... Easy :D... Well done on catching the moment...

Colour... really good, you just can't beat those sky colours, and the boats reflecting on the water. Lovely.Psst... there's a DB there..

A good three, on theme nicely.

What can I say but your Fun shot is brilliant...I can't stop laughing...I love it...:lol::lol:

Your Easy shot is far from easy and althought not in focus on the bird, works a treat for the theme, a great shot to have if you could nail the focus next time...

The colour is a good shot but is crying out for a colour boost... go on give it a go, because that a cracking shot waiting to come out...:clap::clap:

Boosted, any better??

Colour-1.jpg

Fun is a well caught shot, Easy is really good, like that. I would have preferred a slightly higher shutter speed to freeze the gulls wings but there is a lot to like in the shot.

The first colour is fine but as has been said in need of a colour boost.

The second while improving it, hightlights the blues a little for me, which I supposse is to be expected without masking anything or boosting selective colours. Still good though.

Where have I been! Apologies for the lack of comments - work and personal affairs (ie life) have got in the way - thats the excuses over now the comments :)

Fun : Exactly that: Fun :) that cat is the spit of mine as well :)

Easy: Ah I love it - I love seagulls and they make it look effortless - well caught and good interpretatio of the theme

Colour: Nice scene, great colours but the abstract nut inside me would have been tempted to close in on one of the boats hulls and reflection (but thats just me and worth ignoring :D) Its a lovely tranquil shot and colourful to boot :)

PS I've just noticed they were all posted yesterday - I feel less guilty now :D

Ohh, 3 new ones! I can be lazy, because all the comments so far have covered it all for you! I think all 3 are fab, especially "easy". I also think the second colour shot works better. There are better reflections and the subtle change does make a good difference.

Thanks all for the comments. It certainly helps to keep on track
Jon

Glad to see you catching up

Fun, I know what you mean about capturing cats. Ours are either flat out asleep, eating, or moving so fast I've got no chance :D So a great shot IMO

Easy, what a great interpretation. Composition is spot on for me, so well seen and captured. I love the blur which gives the sense of momentum.

Colour, I prefer the second shot with the colour boost ( and the removal of the DB) ;) and I don't think the blues are overdone :clap:

Well done on catching up Fun is my fave the expression on the cats face is excellent :D

My take on this weeks subject.

More fruit!
We're a healthy bunch on these 52s aren't we? :D

I really like the idea of all the fruit having bites taken from it. It makes a nice change to the usual pristine fruit shots - reminds me of the debris after a picnic.
I even like the sticker left on the banana, it adds to the sort of casual abandon of the composition.

My only niggle (and it might be my monitor) is that it looks a touch oversaturated.

Very different from any other fruit shot on here...

and it works ok for me...

Nicely done. The casual abandon of munching bits from each fruit and leaving it looking discarded works well  good take.

Nice shot! Love the randomness of it. Maybe slightly oversaturated, but still a good photo.

Thanks all for the comments.....the fruit started off pristine........:naughty:

Colour: I much prefer the second version, and don't think it's overdone at all.

Food: The composition is great - it does look just like a picnic in progress. :) I love the contrast between the black background and the fruit, although the fruit is a bit ott on my monitor. But then what do I know - I'm having all sorts of trouble this week! :bang:

So full marks for a great take on the theme.
