Copyright sign, can't make one

Hi all,
As it's friday, it's please help me the idiot day.
For some strange reason, i am unable to make the copyright sign in Gimp, i have searched on google and tried the Ctrl-Alt-C but in gimp it doesn't work.

Any suggestions (please make them easy, as you can see i'm not that clever)

Got it now, for those of you who are having idiot issues like me, when the text box comes up, hold down CTRL-Shift and press U, an underlined U comes up, then press A,9 then enter

Do they have a Gimp for muppets book? Managed to do that, can get the watermark in the image, but can't move the watermark where i want it. I have been told this is easy, which makes me really really thick.

Anybody got a spare day to help me...:bang:
