I have had 5 photos used in a presentation/lecture, that have also been used in a small booklet of notes from the lecture. I wasn't at the lecture and found out about this when I asked for a copy of the notes. I know the fella who gave the lecture, and he is fully aware that the photos are of my work and taken by me. These photos have been taken from a website and forum that we both use. The photos have no copyright notice on them as I didn't think it was necessary and they are only 800 pixels on the longest side and 160kb for the web.
I am not looking to take issue with the fella as it was nice to have my work included in the lecture, its just a shame he didn't have the decency to ask.
What I want to know is do I hold the copyright to the images, although there was no marking on the image.

Yup, you own the copyright no matter if it is marked or not :)
 
You need to set this person straight.
If you allow them to do it once, it sets a precedent.
 
You do own copyright, but it was for educational use, so I think they may be allowed.
