Tried to input my info on my 500D today using the EOS Utility software but when I go to the relevent menus, all the options are greyed out so I can't input the information. Any idea's as to what I'm doing wrong??
 
Do you have the camera connected to the PC and switched on?
 
Sorted now. It was connected and switched on but laptop wasn't seeing it. Turned off and restarted which worked.
 
Apparently that trick works with nuclear submarines as well...
