jpd300(what does this mean?)
i looked into using music for the 8 sports videos we (
www.sportysnaps.com) created last year, i looked into the legal side of it and also the options - all of which apply to a slide show that you sell to a client.
if you buy a cd from a shop you can use the music on it to listen to and that's it, any re selling, public performance, sampling etc without pemission is a breach of the copyright.
you can pay a fee to use any bit of music you like in a product you sell, but the prices can be very high for the stones, queen, abba etc
the third option - and the one i used and recommend is to use is to buy a DVD of royalty free music - don't pay for a royalty free download, buy a physical disk from the original owner(you will get a document saying the use allowed) -
second hand royalty free music is breach of copyright.
i looked at lots (and lots) of websites - two of the best (cost/music) are
www.akmmusic.co.uk
www.notepadmusic.com
i have brought over 10 dvd's from the above - well worth the money - samples of all the tracks are on the websites
ps you are in Wales - anywhere near Swansea/Neath?
