Hi Everybody.
As a new member to this forum, I wonder if anybody can help me with my problem. I have a wide selection of Copal printers which I have been using for over fifteen years. True workhorses and practically indestructible. Problem is that Nidec Copal has stopped all operations for these printers worldwide and I'm running out of the blessed Dye Sub Media.
They were/are so reliable that I ended up buying the whole range;
1 Copal DBP-1500 ( for 6x4 inch )
1 Copal DBP-1500 ( for 6x8/6x9 inch )
1 Copal DBP-6000 ( for 5x7/6x8/6x9 inch )
1 Copal DBP-4000 ( for 10x8/12x8inch )
In 15 years of service these dream machines never missed a heartbeat. Now sadly, i'm almost run out of media. My desperate plea is, Anybody has any idea where to buy the stuff, especially the Media pack for the Copal 4000 or for that matter the Fuji ASK 4000, which uses the same media.
Any ideas will be highly appreciated.
Regards to All

Hi and welcome to TP

Not a printer I am familiar with... .

But a search shows that Photomart list some but not for the 4000 model.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. Actually I had an online chat with a salesperson at Photomart. She did tell me that all Copal media was discontinued permanently.
They still have some aftermarket material in stock for the smaller printers but not for the 4000 model. I just love the Copal brand. I will find it quite painful to throw away all those printers when my stock runs out and after having squeezed so many thousands of quality prints over the years. However I have to admit that with such a huge brand and a giant corporation which probably sees their photo printer branch as a small drop in the ocean, it was always hard work, even when I had to upgrade my PC's. They run excellently on Windows 2000, XP or Windows 7. Other than that, you will have problems. They only issued one set of drivers since their inception . Otherwise they couldn't be bothered to upgrade. Funny mentality with these people sometimes. But the build quality and the service that I am still getting out of them is what keeps me searching for any media that is available.
Anyway thanks again for the feedback & best regards.

Does this help ?

Hello Thomas

I have a couple of these machines and some extra new unused media for 6" and 8"

What I don't have is the drivers for the DPB-1500 & DPB-4000

Can I ask for the drivers and would you be interested in the media ?

Peter
