What do you use? We tend to use Extra Virgin Olive Oil...

However, our cooking fat has managed to catch 3 young sparrows today despite her being weighed down with 3 bells on her collar which is highly reflective, the idea being to give potential prey ever chance to see/hear her coming. Fortunately for her 3 victims today, we've managed to get her to release them alive and all 3 have flown away, hopefully unharmed (beyond a major scare!). She's now shut in.:nono:

I use a mix of extra virgin olive oil & rice bran oil, just to stop the olive oil burning.

Cooking Fat was the name of my parents first cat way back in 1970 (apparently named after a comment in a movie), and then my Dad's 2nd cat in the 80's. Cookie#2 was an absolute psycho!!!!

My late dog's late best friend (keeping up? ) was nicknamed cooking fat. With good reason.
A fat, bad tempered, one-eyed, bird slaughtering moggeh :D

EXTRA virgin olive oil for cooking????

I prefer my olive oil with a bit more experience.....(ba dum bum tschhhh)

Been round the block a few times you mean its usually cheaper too :)

We had a big fat ginger tom but he could catch the birdies and mice no problem, a proper little serial killer. Unfortunately he had an unwinnable argument with a tyre and is no longer with us, the wildlife in the area breathed a collective sigh of relief

Yup, why carry 2 bottles into the kitchen? We buy almost all our EVOO direct from the grower (it takes up a large proportion of our baggage allowance!) and so have plenty to go around.

So I've heard, Ruth...

Terri, you've known me for too many years not to have realised that before...

How can it be extra virgin?

That's like describing my shirt size as extra medium.

Steve.
