Cookies for TP

Can anyone please advise on what settings I should have on windows vista, with regard to cookies. Constantly being logged out of this forum, and unable at times to start new threads. The problem is intermittent and my log in has been checked as ok. The strange thing is I have the same problem using my daughters pc, which apart from the same software, is seperate ?
 
What browser?

Get firefox or google chrome (my top pick, lovely clean interface and the fastest browser available) and your problems should go away, and also make your internet experience nicer than IE :)

I usually use AOL, or IE, with Vista.
Strange thing, it worked fine for months, and recently started playing up.
I do notice if I go through IE, rather than AOL, i have less issue, but issues still the same.
Could it even be anyone to do with, when the virus scan is running ?
 
I generally override Automatic cookie handling.

Accept First-party cookies.

Block Third-party cookies.

Always allow session cookies.

I use IE8 and seldom have any bother.

I had a similar problem. Used IE for ages without a problem, then sometimes it just wouldn't let me post on TP.

Now I use Firefox for TP and don't have any problems.

Thanks, looks like firefox may be the answer and a least I know now I am not the only person with the problem.
