This thread raised a few interesting points and I was wondering where the forum, or moderators, stand with this.

Should photographs of activities which are illegal in the UK be allowed in here because they are legal activities elsewhere? Where is the line drawn?

On the other hand the national press can show such photographs so is it more of a moral issue?

But do we also take into account the difference between photographs being shown for pleasure and those which are shown under the stance of reporting? Is there a difference?

Curious to know the stance on this.

I do always make it clear what the threads are about. I thought that NSFW meant "Not Suitable For Work" and I can't see the relevance. My hope is that if someone finds it distasteful, then they'd stay clear and protect their sensibilities. If someone wants to debate the subject then @BillN_33 created a thread about it where it can be discussed.

As I posted in that particular thread

The subject ( matter) of bull fighting game shooting fishing etc has been discussed many times in the staff room, and the admin ruling is, that as a photographic subject, it stands,
as long as there is a clear title ( which of course this has) so people have the option of clicking in or staying out.

And they strongly suggest that comments relate only to the images, just as you would any other image.

If you want to start an "anti" or for that matter "pro" discussion on any subject, well, that's what OoF is for (y)

My particular posts were in regard to how vile the images are. No amount of composition or editing can change that. That's my opinion of the images, so the correct place to post that is in the thread containing said images, is it not?

Since I was a little boy I have grown to hate all blood sports, yes some folk like to see it but others don`t like it. I think it is a sad state of affairs that the most evil thing on Earth ( Humans ) can get any enjoyment of such a cruel, painful, bloodied way to kill any animal is not fun in my eyes. Nature is Nature, but killing animals this way is bang out of order.

Bull fighting is gross to me and only fun when the matadors get gored but it clearly says in the subject title it's bull fighting. So I don't look.

There are lots of upsetting things to take photos of. Without them you don't change opinion. It is part of the photographers job to draw attention to all sorts of things.

Another bull torturer recently got speared i noticed.
i wonder if the lord lets these folk into heaven?

You are correct in the meaning of NSFW, it also implies that something may be distasteful to some, which is why it is not suitable in a workplace.

I suppose that depends on which particular brand of sky fairy you fall for.

There is only one Lord.
What you call yours is up to you :-)

All good strong names those lads :plus1:

I kinda like the name "Belial".
Has a ring to it. :-)

No criminal activity took place in getting the images, so why should they be banned? With the the appropriate warning, you decide if you want to look. Some things cannot be unseen, so if it harms your sensibilities, don't open the thread.

All this coming from a vegetarian...

There is only one true Lord and his name is Buckethead. You know I'm right.

Voldemort.
About as factual.
