I am looking for softare that will produce a contact sheet... or call it whatever.... its should produce a JPG containing any number of Thumbnails generated from a directory... thumbnails must be a give size rather than to fit... must put width/height sizes underneath each thumbnail.. will have lots of options but set thumbnail size and orig pic sizes are a must..

Any suggestions?

Not sure tony but I think Darrens script writer does it drop him a pm

Edit not sure it puts the file size underneath though

Irfanview can do it via the Thumbnails generator (keyboard shortcut 'T') with a variety of options.

This is a very basic output:

Sheet_002.jpg

The interface:

Contact%20Sheet.JPG

Free to use of course! :D

Just had a look on the page and it doesnt mention contact sheets... its a big one to download if it doesnt so can you confirm it definitely does set sizes for the sheet thumbnails and shows width/height of original underneath? ta:)

Fair point well made.
I just did a bit of digging on t'web and found a reference in a newsgroup then had a look at the app page.
If it doesn't do what I thought it might, my bad

Photoshop will convert images in a folder into thumbnails of any size so that you can do whatever you wish with them.

File> Scripts> Image Processor

Try Lightroom. In all the time I have had it I have only needed to print contact sheets in the last few days and I was surprised at the options you can include

As it happens I'd just had a go at this in lightroom yesterday and it has quite a few options that you can include. Here is an example.

Irfanview's 'Start Panorama' is quite a neat option too. :)
