Connecting Two PCs to One Monitor

After loads of great advice through the pages of this forum, I'm ordering a new PC built mainly for CC2015. The problem I have now is I want to connect my old PC and the new PC to work using the same monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I've done this in the past using a Newlink Hotkey connector but the two PCs I had connected together both had a PS/2 keyboard and mouse. The new PC will have a USB keyboard and mouse but the other one has PS/2 connectors. Can anyone advise if it would be possible to connect two PCs this way?
 
Does the older PC have USB connectors?
just plug your current USB mouse and keyb into the older pc and let it find the drivers and install ok and then use the switch in full USB mode.

Can I just check what you have put and please excuse my ignorance, do I just plug both the mouse and keyboard into a USB port on my old PC and then, when the drivers are found use a KVM switch plugged into a USB on my old system?
 
KVM switch is one way, another way is via remote desktop from you new one to the old one.

As long as it is connected to the network you do not require any additional kit.

yep basically both PCs use the same USB keyb and mose, it would just be better first to connect them direct to make sure the drivers go on all hunky.

Exactly, in the olden days I used to do that via my KVM switch. Now I just Remote Desktop onto any of my machines. Unless you are gaming, or photo editing on the other machine it is fast and easy.
