I'm about to launch this bloody phone into the bin ,has anybody have any experience with this ,i could do with a hand .. cheers

It should pick up your wi fi from your router, then pick the network, put in your keycode and off you go. That's really simple - Must be more than that. What stage are you at?

Describe the problem in more detail...what are you trying to do and what is going wrong ?

Jeez that was quick ... excellent:thumbs:... Right ,when i connect to safari ,the phone prompts me to select WiFi network, and in the prompt box is, livebox-7500,when i click on this it asks for a password to join .Does that help any

And it's an Inventel livebox.

Yeah that's basically it - just select the network, plonk the passcode in and you'll be away in no time

I've had mine for about a month now, I absolutely love it! :geek:

To clarify, it's you're hexidecimal wireless key (security key) that you need to enter

It's the passcode i'm having trouble with ,i don't know what that is ,or am i being plain dumb and missing the obvious here .:bang:

Do you use this on your computer already or is this the first time you've used the livebox? The key code, or password, or activation code will be somewhere in the info that came with it.

When you got your router (livebox) you should have got within the documentation a 'Wireless Network Name' (or similar title) which is your case is livebox-7500, and a 'Wireless Key' (sometimes called a WEP key or similar) which is a hexidecimal code. This is the code that you would use to also add any new computers to your home network (if you've ever done that before) and is the one you need for you iphone. I would suggest checking all the paperwork that came with your livebox and the livebox packaging etc to see if it's there - they may have supplied it on a separate card.

If you've connected your computer wirelessly to the network you must've entered the key at some point.

On a plus side, you should only have to do it once - the iPhone should remember the network then.

With an Orange Livebox, to connect anything to it wirelessly you need to press the little white button on the back to activate the "Allow something to connect" functionality. Then try to connect with either the default password as Paul-H says listed on the lable or go into the livebox webadmin page and set it yourself manually to something slightly more memorable :)

Once it's paired the first time you shouldn't need to do any of the above again .

Yep won't work without pressing that button, I think it's quite good really as it's harder to break into, although I'm sure some nerd's probably managed it.
It can be frustrating though when you do forget you need to press it :bang:
I have to use mine as I get the free VOIP calls, but my old SMC router is faster on the net.

If your on the Orange Network and you have a LIVEBOX you need to press the No1 button on the LIVEBOX itself, you then have 10 min to input the WEP key onto your Phone.

The WEP key can be found on the sticker on the LIVEBOX.

Hope this helps
