connecting ipad to stereo amp

the missus wants to connect her ipad to the stereo amplifier to listen to her audio books
would a 3.5 mm jack to 2 x RCA phono stereo cable work
or is there another solution that isn't too expensive?

3.5mm is cheapest.

You could get a Bluetooth audio receiver

You could get an iPad dock with audio out.

Or you could get an airport express.

Does she want to use the iPad while she listens? If so I would recommend the Bluetooth or airport express as they are cable free options.

A cable like that is by far he cheapest unless the stereo is already AirPlay compatible.

the stereo is getting on a bit so I think that the cable is the best option, I wasn't sure if it would work with the ipad but sounds like it will

Airport express and bluetooth will plug in via cable. It jus the connection between the iPad and the bluetooth/airport express is wireless

Thanks Dale we have gone for a cable as that's the simplest solution
its complicated enough already as we have got a sky box, cd player , xbox 360 and xbox one all connected to the amp
