Ok, well im up in the lakes for the rest of the week and took a trip down to coniston water last evening and noticed that the water level was rather high. There were a few small jettys that i saw which were fully submerged.

Now i said to myself that i'd shoot the famous jetty, which i know is overdone but i havn't shot it myself.

Where the heck is this famous jetty, the one that seems to pop up everywhere, im aware there may be more than one but can anyone point me in the right direction :D

If your unsure then heres a picture for the one/ ones im after... (ill leave the links in under the shots whilst they are not mine ;) )

Also any other sport worth a trip whilst im up here int he keswick/penrith area

It's not far from the town on the righthand side. The one with Leo Villas workshop next to it.

Villa was Campbells mechanic

If youre around Keswick I'd recommend Castlerigg Stone Circle, top of the village on the Ambleside Road

well worth an early morning trip, as is Derwent water also in Keswick

Les

The one I knew about at Coniston was on the east side of the lake, just a minute or so walk from the Rigg Woods forest car park. If it isn't the same it certainly looks 95% like the one in that shot, which gives you more options.

Despite it being photographed many times, have a good think as to how you can make it your own?

Don't forget, you can still get good shots even when you think it's far too dark - I was there happily taking shots 1.5 hours after sunset and still had lovely vibrant blues in the sky.

Cheers folks, i'v been a fool, i actually meant ullswater NOT coniston... :bang:

Can anyone help me on the coniston front, though i may have to go and check out coniston later on in the week....

I ran in the Lakeland Trails Marathon in Coniston this morning. Don't suppose you manage to catch any photos of that?

The jetty in your original post is indeed Coniston (Rigg Jetty), and there are a few dotted all over Ullswater.
