You need to post in the critique and sharing sections, where do you have the images hosted on line, most hosts offer the code you need to be able to post onto forums

Upload to a sharing site like photobucket, flickr etc... there's a thread somewhere of how to link to these sites!

You need to have them hosted somewhere, if in theory you could upload directly from your computer it would need to always be on

Can can upload images to your gallery on here, the files but be no larger than 200kb and not longer than 800px on the longest edge...alternatively you can set up free accounts on most hosting websites such as Flickr etc and use these to allow you to then post your photos onto the forum....don't worry it can take a bit of time to work out how to get started but we will get you there

Great to help you once your photo is on Flickr all you need to do is open the photo and copy and paste the BBCode from there into your thread

Theres nowt wrong with the quality on here, you don't need more than 200kb for onscreen view anyway

And you've never seen the file sizes of images after Facebook and mutilated them? Generally about 30kb for a 800px image

As matt said Facebook mutilates images far more than the TP gallery

I tend to click through Flickr images to find the largest available size. That way I can judge sharpness far better than is possible with the standard 800px posted images.

Glad I'm not the only one feelings discriminated against here, the forum has never ruined any of my photos, now my abilities that sure has ruined a few

Enough thankyou. We rarely get complaints about quality of images posted in the forum gallery, in fact I can't remember the last one, but if you do have a problem, there are plenty of hosting alternatives. Though as suggested, facebook is probably not a good one as it really does mash images and linking is difficult because those that don't have fb accounts often can't see the images anyway.

We are moving to new software soon and the gallery on that is a massive step on usability and features compared to the current one, so arguments about this one are pretty much redundant and pointless, just be patient for a short while longer.
