Confused...Which LR am I testing 5 or 6?

Boy, I'm confused.

I downloaded for trial purposes what I thought was LR5, but what have I actually got?

The system info says......Lightroom version: CC 2015.0.1 [ 1018573 ].....is this 5 or 6?

I thought I'd download LR6 for trial purposes and to compare with LR5, but LR6 download for trial purposes I could not find on the Adobe site.....Just LR.

If I finally decide to buy LR5 or LR6 which 'boxed' version should I purchase to match the software I have?

Throughly confused Dave in Wales here, why CC 2015, why not just LR5 or LR6...................HEEEEELP.

If its Lightroom CC, then it will be Lightroom 6 you are trialing.

CC is the creative Cloud subscription terminology.

So basically I can purchase 'boxed' 5 or 6 amd the software I'm trialing will sort out the authentication serial number.

It's for a Macbook, it has no disc slot.

Not sure to be honest, i suspect if you buy LR 5 you will have to uninstall LR CC and install LR 5

I suspect possibly not if you purchased LR 6 as it is identical to LR CC but without the CC (Creative Cloud) additions, which are mostly Mobile and syncing add-ons

I tried the Lightroom CC trial (same version number as in your first post) and it installed separately to LR5 (v5.7). On the first launch of LR CC there was an option to use the LR5 catalog or create another new catalog just for LR CC.
