Hi, Can someone please explain in simple terms the differances between Android versions, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop and Marshmallow.
The only thing I no about these is that as a Child I used to eat them:dummy:
Thanks, Russ

In simple terms, I believe they are just versions, like Windows 98, Windows 7 and Windows 10...
The newer it is the better it'll run...in theory.
It also affects what you can run on your device, app wise, as these need tob be compatible and capable.

For more info, this might be a good place to start - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_version_history

Firstly, you've listed them in order of release which is a good start. I would also add on the end Nougat and Oreo.

There is a full wiki here detailing stuff but you can probably boil it down to:
  • Features (not always increased but sometimes just changed)
  • Design, visual motif, user interface etc
  • Improved security
  • Improved performance and support for newer chipsets and hardware
  • Improved battery life
